AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY

Jodi A. Hilty is a landscape ecologist and conservation biologist with a research focus on understanding thresholds of human impact on biodiversity. She is assistant director for the Wildlife Conservation Society's North America program and helps to oversee a diverse program of conservation and research efforts.

William Z. Lidicker Jr. is an ecologist, conservation biologist, and vertebrate zoologist. He is currently professor of integrative biology and curator of mammals (Museum of Vertebrate Zoology) Emeritus.

Adina M. Merenlender's primary focus is in the field of conservation biology. Currently, she is a cooperative extension specialist at the University of California Berkeley.
