AUTHOR BIOGRAPHYClifton J. Phillips earned a doctorate from Harvard University in 1954. From 1954 to his retirement in 1984, he was a professor in history at DePauw University in Indiana. He has authored several books, including DePauw: A Pictorial History and From Frontier Circuit to Urban Church: A History of Greencastle Methodism.
