A Toronto artist finds herself in the unlikely role of amateur sleuth as she sets about unraveling the strange death of her mentor, a renowned artist, through the tangle of a working art studio and the legacies left behind by the murdered artist’s love of mythology and Shakespeare.

Susan Statham was born in Toronto, Ontario, and educated at the Ottawa School of Art, Algonquin College, the Ontario College of Art and Design, the University of Waterloo, and the National Portrait Academy. She began writing her first novel, "The Painter's Craft," in Toronto where she raised two sons and worked as a school librarian and portrait artist. She now lives in an eastern Ontario hamlet with her husband, Mark Foley, and their French bulldog, Miss Jane Marple.
