They also coauthored Haunted Heartland, Haunted America, Historic Haunted America, and Haunted Heritage. His own books include Haunted Homeland and The Nearly Departed: Minnesota Ghost Stories and Legends. Norman is professor emeritus of journalism at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and a former newspaper and radio journalist.
