ABOUT THIS BOOKEdwin Arlington Robinson is, we understand, to be the subject of a full-length official biography; until that is issued, the present sketch by a long-time friend and neighbor in Gardiner, Maine, will be a welcome glimpse of his youth and early manhood. Mrs. Richards writes with charming informality. She presents an attractive and strikingly handsome boy among his schoolmates and as he struggled to gain a hearing for his poetry. The story closes with his departure from Gardiner for New York in 1897.
