The Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (JCES) is a peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. JCES integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing critical problems identified through a community-participatory process.

Cassandra Simon is Associate Professor of social work at The University of Alabama. Ed Mullins is Dean Emeritus of the College of Communication and Information Sciences and Director of community research and communication in the Center for Community-Based Partnerships (CCBP), also at The University of Alabama. CCBP is an outreach arm of the University's Office of Community Affairs.
