Darlene A. Kluka holds two doctoral degrees, one in motor learning from Texas Woman’s University, USA, the other in sport management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, after earning bachelor and master degrees from Illinois State University, USA. After several years at the high school level, she invested substantive years at Grambling State University and Barry University, where she retired as Dean of the School of Human Performance and Leisure Sciences. Kluka now is a Research Associate at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
As a human performance educator and researcher, Kluka coached high school and university level volleyball, gymnastics, and softball in Illinois, taught undergraduate kinesiology and sport studies in South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana. She was Director of graduate programs at the University of Central Oklahoma, Director of the International Academy for Women’s Leadership at Kennesaw State University, and Director of undergraduate and graduate sport management programs at Barry University.
Kluka was selected as Head of Delegation to the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece, and served as Deputy Delegate to the United States Olympic Committee. She has served as Vice President of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), a member of the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) Board of Directors, a charter member of USA Volleyball Sports Medicine and Performance Commission (SMPC), and as inaugural Director of the ICHPERSD Commission on Women and Sport. She served on the Advisory Board of the Women’s Sports Foundation, as a member of USA Volleyball Sports Medicine and Performance Commission, Vice President of USA Volleyball, President of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS of AAHPERD), and President of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport (IAPESGW). Her local service continued as a member of the Louisiana Advocacy Committee of the American Heart Association, and the Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sport.
Kluka has been presented with the prestigious ICSSPE Philip Noel Baker Research Award, International Academy of Sports Vision (IASV) Joe Andera Research Award, International Council of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance (ICHPERSD) Distinguished Scholar in Sport and Olympic Movement Award, Leader in Volleyball Award (USAV), and has been inducted into the American Volleyball Coaches (AVCA) Hall of Fame, National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE, now SHAPE) Hall of Fame, Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) Hall of Fame in the Master Professor category, and Illinois State University College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Hall of Fame. She has also been selected as Southern District AAHPERD Scholar and Louisiana State AHPERD Scholar. Two of her most precious selections were as Distinguished Alumna of Texas Woman’s University and Barry University’s Visionary Excellence Award for her leadership.
Anneliese Goslin is an Emeritus Professor in sport management and leisure sciences at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, where she was a fulltime faculty member for 35 years.
Prof. Dr.Goslin earned her BA (PE) in 1972, a BA Honours (PE) , a MA (cum laude) and a Higher Education Diploma , followed by a DPhil. After completing her D Phil, she earned an MBA degree and was awarded the Old Mutual Medal as the top student. Her areas of academic specialization focus on strategic management in sport, sport leadership, sport governance, and curriculum design. She has published widely in accredited scientific journals, contributed to chapters in academic books, served as editor of textbooks, and acted as study leader and promotor for numerous Master and Doctoral students. She presented scientific papers on all five continents and delivered invited keynote addresses at ICSEMIS (International Convention of Sport,), WASM (World Association of Sport Management), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and TAFISA (International Sport for All) World Congresses. She acted as Congress Director for 2 international congresses in the fields of Sport Sciences and continues to serve as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals.
She served as co-chair of the Development Committee of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) and served on its Executive Board. During her tenure, she led the organization through the development of its strategic plan. She previously served as Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Recreation for South Africa and Vice Presidents of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW) and TAFISA.
Parallel to her full-time academic career, she developed and presented more than 100 community sport and recreation leader training courses as part of the South African community sport and recreation initiative in youth and women prisons as well as in rural and urban communities throughout the country. . Prior to, and since her retirement, she has been involved in developing and presenting Sport Business Management courses in Africa (Malawi) and TAFISA Community Sport Leader courses for African Union (AU) Region 5. She recently developed a Women‘s Sport Leadership Programme and Train-the -Trainer course for AU Region 5, designed to empower female sport leaders and trainers in the region.
She has been presented with several awards during her professional academic career, including the prestigious ICSSPE Philip Noel Baker Research Award, an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Award for her contribution to Sport for All, TAFISA’s Pioneer of Sport for All Award, the South African President’s Award for her contribution to the promotion of Recreation in South Africa, and a Sport for All Award from the Austrian Government.
Noah Hsu earned an MS in International Business from West Coast University, Los Angeles, California, USA, and a BS in Business Management from Tamsui Oxford College, Tamsui, Taiwan. Recently retired after 25 years at Aletheia University as an associate professor in sport management, he taught sport marketing management, sport tourism, statistics, marketing for tourism, human resource management, principles of management, principles of marketing, and recreational sport planning. During that time, he served several years as Chair of the Teachers’ Association.
Hsu’s professional service has included positions as Executive Director of the World Association of Sport Management (WASM); Chair of the Organizing Committee of Global Sport Management Summits; and Chair of International Affairs of the Taiwan Society of Sport Management (TASSM).
Hsu’s primary research interests are sport marketing, sport tourism, and/or applied studies examining professional competency, training, and sport management education. He has had numerous chapters published in Human Resource Management in Sports,Principles of Sport Marketing, Fitness Club Management, and Sport Management, and has served as a reviewer for Quarterly of Chinese Physical Activity,Journal of TASSM, National Sports Quarterly, Journal of Taiwan Society for Sport Management, and Quarterly of Taiwan Sport Management.
Prior to his time at Alethia University, Hsu spent 17 years in the practical business field, serving as sales representative, assistant manager, marketing manager, and managing director both in the United States and in Taiwan. Hsu is a founding member of both the Sport Tourism Association of the Republic of China and TASSM.
