Since the publication of the original edition in 1947, Richard McKeon's Introduction to Aristotle has become the standard text for a variety of courses in philosophy and the humanities. Richard McKeon was until his death in 1985 the Charles F. Grey Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Classical Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. Among his books are Thought, Action, and Passion and Freedom and History.
